Composition
1 ml solution contains 25 mg Enrofloxacin.
Pharmacological information
Baytril, which is a derivative of quinolone carboxylic acid, is an anti-infective chemotherapeutic medicine with specially high bactericidial effect. Enrofloxacin, inhibits the bacterial gyrase enzyme which has an improtant role in DNA replication. The inhibition of this enzyme, blocks certain stages of bacterial synthesis, causing functional disorders leading to death of the bacteria. This gives Baytril a different mode of action in comparison with other antibiotics. Enrofloxacin has a broad-spectrum anti-bacterial efficacy, including Mycoplasmas, gram negative and gram positive bacteria as well as as anaerobic patogenic bacteria.
Baytril, regardless to the application method, reaches the maximum serum level in 1/2-2 hours after application, and stays in the same therapeutic level for 24 hours.
Indications
Baytril is used for the treatment of infectious diseases in cattle, sheep, goats, non-ruminating calves, lambs and kids, caused by gram negative and gram positive bacteria as well as Mycoplasmas. Thanks to wide spectrum activity, Baytril is highly effective and indicated in bacterial and Mycoplasma sourced infections. Bacterial infections of the respiratory and digestive system diseases (Pasteurellosis, Mycoplasmosis, Colibacillosis, Colisepticaemia, Salmonellosis), and secondary bacterial infections developing after viral infections, (complex respiratory system infections of cattle, sheep and goats) are among them.
Diseases of lambs, ruminating and non-ruminating calves, kids, cattle, sheep and goats that Baytril %2,5 oral solution is indicated;
